How to stay safe online
The internet can be a dangerous place. Having hard and different passwords, might not be enough these days. Hackers can get to your account just by you accepting their friend request on social media. So I would recommend using 2FA (2-factor authentication) or MFA (multi-factor authentication) . This makes it so everyone trying to access your account will need your phone or authentication code from you, to access it. However that also applies to you, it should be relatively easy to set that up. It depends on if the app you are using has that specific feature. Let’s take Discord for example, discord has a 2FA feature. You would need google authentication app installed (or any other auth. apps that you can trust) on your device, that generates a different code required to access your account every once in a while. This means that the code isn’t always the same. Some apps however will just send a code to your phone over messeages, like Microsoft login service. Or while setting this up it can also ask for personal information only you would know, something like your first cats name or what was the first computer you ever had. In a nutshell Multi-factor authentication is a second factor that only the user has. Or secondary proof that the user trying to login is you. So not just taking your password but also the code sent only to the right user.
Also im not saying that it’s impossible for hackers to get over that and into your account but, it makes it much harder for them to do so.
